About Me

005

I have experience in supporting                   individuals troubled by many different issues.

Mainly working with bereavement since qualifying over the last 11 years,  I have come to really understand that loss is a fundamental part of our life.

Facing the loss of a lifestyle, our home,    a relationship,  an ideal,  a faith,  friends,  a belief,  self confidence,  self esteem, regular sleep,  appetite,  our sense of identity,  a physical or mental ability ……….. the “loss list” goes on. And none of us are immune.

And these issues can be accompanied with distress, anxiety and depression.

I really understand and appreciate how the stresses and strains of difficult events and relationships impact upon our lives.

I see how debilitating anticipating, living  through and recovering from difficult times can be – for all concerned.

I recognise that these impacts can continue to have an effect on us years after the event has occurred or the relationship has ended.

I do so strongly believe the best support we can get is from ourselves.                However I also believe that many of us benefit from devoting time to establishing and developing this skill.

Ethics

I abide by the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Your confidentiality will be professionally managed.

I have regular supervision and am committed to ongoing personal and professional development.
